Important Information
- The court does not handle parking tickets. (If you received a parking ticket, contact the city printed on the ticket.)
- You can pay traffic fines and fees by clicking HERE or at the clerk's office between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
- You must take care of your traffic ticket on time - even if you do not get a reminder notice.
Failure to Appear or Pay
If you do not take care of your traffic ticket by the date shown on the reminder notice:
- You may be assessed a civil assessment fee of up to $100
- Your case may be referred to the court's collection agency: Linebarger.
If you get a notice telling you that a civil assessment fee has been added, it means you did not take action by the due date and/or you did not pay the fine.
If a civil assessment has been added to your case pursuant to penal code 1214.1(b)(1), you can request the court to consider your good cause to vacate the added fee. You can do this by petition (TR-320), that can be found at the link below or at the Traffic Clerk’s Office and can be submitted by mail or in person to the court indicated on the citation.
TR-320 Can't Afford to Pay Fine-Traffic and Other Infractions
Traffic School Eligibility
In general, you may attend traffic school if you have not attended traffic school in California in the past 18 months and have a valid California license. (The 18 months is from the date of violation to the date of violation.)
If you qualify for traffic school
- Pay your fine and the $67.00 administrative fee by mail or online. If you are unable to select traffic school when making an online payment and believe you are eligible, please mail payment as indicated on your notice. OR:
- Go to the clerk's office at the court location on the bottom of your ticket and pay the fine and the $67.00 traffic school administrative fee.
- Get the List of Traffic Schools from the Department of Motor Vehicles
It is your responsibility to make sure that the court receives your completed traffic school certificate.
Note: If you attended an online traffic school, the court will receive an electronic certificate from the online school.
NOTICE: If you are eligible and decide not to attend traffic school your automobile insurance may be adversely affected. One conviction in any 18-month period will be held confidential and not show on your driving record if you complete a traffic violator school program.
